Another good night for the Wild and another hats off to the Bandit squad for a hard fought 60 minutes. The Wild jumped out to a 7-0 lead but the Bandits held the Wild to a 3-2 margin the rest of the way.
The Wild on the board early and often in this one as there were no bus legs to be found. After going to the wrong rink and and arriving at the arena behind schedule the boys came up fired up and took it to the Bandits. First period goals were scored by Matthew Wyman (2), Luke Finoro (4) and Tyler Nagy. Strong between the pipes was Andrew Chenier who shut the door for the first 20 minutes along with some nice defensive play by the Defense.
The second period slowed down a bit and the Wild could only muster a pair of goals while the Bandits finally broke the goose egg. The teams played to a 2-1 frame with Wild goals by Nagy and Ryan Buller.
In a very quick 3rd period the boys played the Bandits to a draw which was just what the doctor ordered to get back on the bus in good timing. The Wild lone goal scorer in the third was Finoro with his 5th for the contest. A good job by the boys from both teams who play a very tough but sportsmanlike game vs a depleted Caledon lineup.
The boys enjoyed the bus ride home as it was Rookie Karoke for 90 mins along with some pizza. Thanks to the parents who joined us to cheer the boys on.
Next up for the Wild is Saturday when the Wild head to Six Nations for what should be a playoff type game against the first place Warriors.
