It is the mandate of the Wilmot Wild Lacrosse Club (The Wild) to provide a safe and respectful lacrosse experience for all of those in attendance at a Wild home game.  It will further be the directive of the club to ensure that all participants, including fans, on floor & minor officials, gameday volunteers, bench staff and players from both clubs are afforded the opportunity to participate in the game without being subjected to negative comments or behavior of any fashion.

At each Wild home game for the remainder of the 2019 season the Wild will appoint two “Respect Marshalls” that will be clearly identified as such.  These individuals will be responsible to assist with the safe and respectful enjoyment of the sport for all participants.  The Respect Marshalls will work as part of the Minor Officials crew and will act as extension of the on floor officials in an effort to allow the referees to focus on the game and not the area outside of the playing surface.

Coupled with the Respect Marshalls the Wild will ensure that there is an ample amount of literature and posters available and visible to remind fans from both clubs about the need to Respect the Game and its participants.

The Wild are dedicated to providing a safe and respectful place to enjoy a lacrosse game for participants of all ages.  We would like to be a part of the solution and welcome a shift in culture within the sport of box lacrosse.  There is much work to be done and the sport of lacrosse will only benefit by being a leader in respect to other sports and demonstrate that while we have a level of control aggression on the floor, it is mirrored by the highest respect for the game off the floor.
